Pervez Musharraf Resigns as President of Pakistan

So finally Pervez Musharraf has resigned as President of Pakistan (on 18th August, 2008). He has indeed once again proven himself intelligent than others, the likes of, current in government.

I liked him personally as a person and I have the right to. According to me he is very brave, not a looter to as much extent as like all others in politics and a very very witty person but he made wrong decissions and acts(judges, lal masjid and emergnecy). His only problem(in politics) was he was an army man and I admit that he came to power in wrong way. But he was much better than what the nation has seen in democracy ( big time looters, criminals […]).

Some thing was once written about Ayub Khan that (in urdu: Unke shaksiyat chanaar kay drakht kee tarah hoobsoorat thee but girtay wakat uskaa tanaaa hassa khokhla ho chuka thaa..) this exactly applies to Musharraf as well. Last year(s) of his regime were full of turbulence and wrong decissions due to whatever reasons, and this is the cause of major downfall of him. And he should have resigned to avoid confrontation and he finally did again proving himself better. Another great thing he has done is appointment of Gen. Ashfaque Kyani as Army Chief, who himself sounds to be a savvy in the field and a very better person.

His final address to nation was awesome and great and look the way the nincompoop in assembly speaks, shouts and bark and just compare it with his serene and composed address the difference will be all clear.

For me he was, is and will be a good person, though his wrongs are also bigger but still…:)

Regards,
